Ultimately, you are responsible for everything that happens to you. You aren’t the cause of everything that happens to you, but you are responsible for it. Good and bad. If you don’t anticipate something, and it causes a problem, you are responsible for fixing it, or not. If you have something great happen to you, ultimately you are responsible for how you respond to it. It’s a fucking challenge, and it feels unfair sometimes, and other times it feels like you engineered it (when you may not have). I’m not the first person to write this, I’m only regurgitating what others have written and I’ve read. It feels so serious to say, but it is so true.
